Getting to AT&T Stadium: Complete Transportation Guide for World Cup 2026

AT&T Stadium sits at a geographic crossroads in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex — equidistant between two major downtowns and served by two international airports — but getting there efficiently on match day requires planning. Unlike stadiums in cities with comprehensive rail networks (Houston's NRG Stadium is similarly challenged; London's Wembley is served by dedicated rail), AT&T Stadium in Arlington has no direct light rail connection. This guide explains every realistic transportation option for every type of visitor.

Understanding the Geography

Arlington, Texas, occupies a roughly 100-square-mile city sitting between Dallas to the east and Fort Worth to the west. AT&T Stadium's address — 1 AT&T Way, Arlington, TX 76011 — places it approximately 20 miles from downtown Dallas via Interstate 30 East, 15 miles from downtown Fort Worth via Interstate 30 West, and 18 miles from DFW International Airport via State Highway 360 South.

The absence of light rail in Arlington is a frequently noted civic limitation. The city voted against joining the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) network in referendums in the 1990s and has not joined since. For World Cup 2026, this means that fans arriving in Dallas or Fort Worth by air must transfer to ground transportation options for the final leg to the stadium.

"Arlington's transportation infrastructure is excellent for automotive movement but requires specific planning for transit-dependent visitors," noted a 2023 Texas A&M Transportation Institute study on major event mobility in the DFW Metroplex. "The World Cup will accelerate the implementation of interim transit solutions that have been studied for the Arlington Entertainment District for several years."

From DFW International Airport

DFW International Airport (IATA: DFW) is the primary international arrival gateway for World Cup visitors. The airport is located north of Dallas and west of the city, approximately 18 miles from AT&T Stadium.

Option 1: Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) The most direct option. Rideshare pickup zones are well-established at all DFW terminals. Uber and Lyft operate across DFW at scale. For a standard sedan, the fare from DFW Airport to AT&T Stadium runs approximately $35 to $65 depending on traffic conditions and surge pricing. Travel time: 25 to 45 minutes. On non-match days, this is entirely predictable; on match days, allow up to 60 minutes.

Option 2: Rental Car via SH-360 Most international visitors unfamiliar with the Metroplex will rent a car. From DFW International, take SH-360 South for approximately 17 miles directly to Arlington. The route connects to AT&T Way with minimal navigation complexity. Plan for 30 to 50 minutes on match days.

Option 3: DART Rail + Match Day Shuttle For budget-conscious visitors or those preferring transit, the TEXRail commuter rail line connects DFW Airport Terminal B (Skylink accessible from all terminals) to Fort Worth Central Station. From Fort Worth Central Station, match day shuttle service to AT&T Stadium takes approximately 30 minutes. Total transit time from DFW: approximately 75 to 90 minutes. Total cost: approximately $10 to $15. This option requires planning and time buffer but is comfortable and cost-effective.

From Dallas Love Field Airport

Dallas Love Field (IATA: DAL) primarily serves Southwest Airlines domestic routes. It is located 20 miles east-northeast of AT&T Stadium.

Option 1: DART Rail + Shuttle Love Field connects via the DART Love Field station (DART Orange and Blue lines). Take DART to Dallas Union Station in downtown Dallas — approximately 25 minutes. From Union Station, match day shuttle buses to AT&T Stadium operate directly. The shuttle from Union Station takes approximately 35 minutes. Total transit time: approximately 60 to 70 minutes. This is the most reliable transit option for Love Field arrivals.

Option 2: Rideshare Approximately $40 to $70 from Love Field to AT&T Stadium. Travel time 30 to 50 minutes. Rideshare pickup at Love Field uses the designated terminal rideshare zone adjacent to the baggage claim level.

From Downtown Dallas

Visitors staying in the core Dallas hotel corridor (Uptown, Victory Park, Downtown, Deep Ellum) have multiple options to reach AT&T Stadium.

Match Day Express Bus (Arlington Express) The City of Arlington coordinates match day express bus service from Dallas Union Station to AT&T Stadium. Service runs starting 2 hours before kickoff and returning for 90 minutes after the final whistle. Round-trip tickets: approximately $15 to $25 per person. Travel time from Union Station: 30 to 45 minutes depending on match-day traffic. DART light rail from any downtown Dallas station to Union Station is 5 to 15 minutes.

Rideshare from Downtown Dallas Via I-30 West. Travel time 25 to 40 minutes on non-match days; 40 to 65 minutes on match days as traffic builds approaching the stadium. Drop-off at Gate H rideshare zone. Lyft and Uber fares from downtown Dallas to AT&T Stadium run approximately $30 to $55 standard; surge pricing can push this to $70 to $100+ in the 60 minutes before kickoff. Consider timing your departure 90 minutes before kickoff to minimize surge impact.

Driving via I-30 If you are driving from a Dallas hotel with parking, I-30 West to the AT&T Way exit is the primary route. Use GPS navigation and check real-time traffic — at 2 hours before a 93,000-person sellout, the I-30 corridor west of Dallas will already be showing elevated congestion.

From Downtown Fort Worth

Fort Worth, approximately 15 miles west of AT&T Stadium via I-30, is an excellent home base for World Cup visitors with tickets to multiple matches.

TEXRail + Match Day Shuttle TEXRail operates from Fort Worth Central Station to DFW Airport. For match days, match day shuttle service supplements TEXRail with direct connections between Fort Worth transit stations and AT&T Stadium. Travel time from Fort Worth Central Station: approximately 25 to 35 minutes.

Driving via I-30 Straightforward. Take I-30 East to AT&T Way. Travel time 20 to 30 minutes without traffic; allow 45 minutes on match days for the final approach to the stadium. Fort Worth hotels are well-positioned for this route.

Accessibility Transportation

AT&T Stadium's accessible parking areas (Lots A, B, and C) accommodate vehicles with valid ADA/blue placard holders. For visitors who do not drive but require accessible transportation, DART provides ADA-compliant paratransit services, and the match day shuttle program from Dallas Union Station is fully wheelchair accessible with advance notice.

International visitors requiring accessible transportation are encouraged to contact the AT&T Stadium Guest Services office at least 14 days in advance to discuss specific needs. FIFA and AT&T Stadium maintain an enhanced accessibility program for World Cup 2026 with resources for hearing-impaired, visually-impaired, and mobility-limited guests.

International Visitors: Arriving Without a Vehicle

For international fans who are unfamiliar with American car culture, navigating the car-centric design of the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb landscape can be disorienting. The practical reality is that AT&T Stadium is not walkable from major transit hubs the way Wembley, the Allianz Arena, or Estadio Azteca are from their respective transit stations. Building in transit time and using the match day shuttle services is the most reliable approach.

The FIFA Fan Zones and pre-match entertainment in the Arlington Entertainment District begin hours before kickoff, which means arriving early is both logistically sound and experientially rewarding. Plan to be at the stadium precinct by 2 hours before kickoff. Use that time to explore the Entertainment District, visit a pre-match watch party at Texas Live!, or enjoy the atmosphere outside the gates before entering the stadium.
